Plus IIIe are Auto-Sensing Transceivers and will automatically function as either a transmitter, a receiver, or both. Important information: PocketWizard Plus IIIe is fully compatible with PocketWizard E Series radios that have the E Release firmware. To communicate with a non E Series PocketWizard radio, like a PlusX or Plus II, or with another Plus III radio that has not been upgraded, the unit can be downgraded to Legacy firmware quickly and easily and upgraded again to the E Release as often as you like using the PocketWizard Utility. Camera & Flash Compatibility The Plus IIIe will work with virtually any camera or flash capable of triggering from a center pin trigger or with the appropriate sync cable and can sync a flash in manual mode, up to your camera’s X-sync speed. It does not support TTL communication. Simple User Interface Everything is right at your fingertips with the intuitive soft touch keypad. Press any button (except test) to illuminate the LCD if you’re in low light. Fast and Easy Setup On the camera, slide it into the hot shoe and tighten the locking ring. Connect the flash to your remote radio by using the secure miniphone connection. Turn on the radios, match the Channels and Zones, and you’re ready to go! Directions for use: Off-Camera Flash Triggering an off-camera or remote flash, you will need at least 2 PocketWizard radios. Attach a Plus IIIe to your camera’s hot shoe and twist locking ring until snug. Do not overtighten. You may also connect the Plus IIIe to your camera’s PC sync port using the included cable. Connect a Plus IIIe to your remote flash via the appropriate sync cable. Select a Channel and Zone A, B, C, or D via Channel Up/Down Buttons and Zone Toggle Buttons. Set any other PocketWizard radios to a matching Channel and Zone. Take pictures normally at or below your camera’s X-sync speed. Notes: The Plus IIIe does not support TTL communication - flashes must be set to Manual. Momentarily pressing the TEST button will test trigger the flash. Directions for Use: Remote Camera To trigger a remote camera, you will need at least 2 PocketWizard radios. Radio #1 (Remote Camera) Connect a Plus IIIe to your remote camera via the appropriate remote camera cable (not included). The receiving Plus IIIe does not need to be in the hot shoe. Select a Channel and Zone A, B, C, or D via the Channel Up/Down Buttons and Zone Toggle Buttons. Radio #2 (Master) Select same Channel and Zone as your remote camera Option 1: Full Press the TEST button on the transmitting PocketWizard radio with your hand. (Half press to wake up the remote camera.) Option 2: Connect transmitting PocketWizard radio to hot shoe of your main camera. Full press the shutter button to fire the remote camera. (Half press to wake up the remote camera.)
